Thanks to all who came out in the rain and helped us at the gardens today. We had a lot of fun planting, weeding, and celebrating Jerry's Birthday. He loved his 7-11 Slurpee gift card and will put it to good use this summer. I overheard him saying that slurpees are his "guilty pleasure." So thank you for your generous contribution and it will be "the gift that keeps on giving!"
I am so happy that I get the privilege to work with each of you at the gardens. I feel like all I do is run around and you do all the work! I am amazed at all that was done today. We planted many flats of ornamental peppers in the annual beds, many hydrangeas were planted by the new hosta garden, and so much weeding was done in all the gardens. You did all this work in the rain and you never even complained. I think you all are awesome.

Master Gardener Clean Up Day: Hope to See You There
It's the first Tuesday of the month and we're excited to work with you all today at the gardens. We are going to be planting some ornamental peppers, shrubs, and a few perennials. We will also be weeding all the beds and making them look nice for our Art in the Garden event. We will also be having a surprise for Jerry's 50th Birthday during lunch. Hope to see you there!

More Flowering Beauties: Another Slideshow
In between rain storms I was able to get out in the gardens and take some pictures of our "babies." They look so cute with the water droplets. This is the reason why we garden. We get to see the fruits of our labor and enjoy all the beautiful flowers.
Iris Collection Slideshow
This has been a crazy spring and our iris collection is just starting to bloom. Usually the are blooming during the plant sale, but we are running behind schedule this year. Look how beautiful all the different varieties are. I will be taking pictures as the flowers progress. It's just going to get better and better. I love how the rain droplets sit on the blooms.
If you see one you like--we might have it for sale. Come and see our Dike's Collection and add it to your own garden. They are perfect for Memorial Day!

Oh well, I'll continue to patiently wait for a few more days. Then I'll tell you the answers. C'mon super sleuths--I want to hear some answers.

What's Wrong with this Plant: Part II
I had another mystery that needed to be solved. See if you can figure out what is wrong with this beloved tomato. I have decided that the tomato is the most endearing plant in the veggie kingdom. People love their tomatoes! This will be the first of many diagnostic questions with this well-loved crop.
Let me know if you can figure it what's wrong with this plant. I think I might start giving prizes to the first one who answers it right. But first, I need to find something for a prize. Okay, I found a great prize in Jerry's office. Who wants to be the first winner? Leave me a comment with your answer under this post. 1,2,3...Go
